( anywho, here's a timeline of my hair! )
lately I've been getting bored of my color. I've asked some friends what I should do and most of them are telling me to go back to blonde but I dunno, that's boring too. what do you guys think I should do? |

hi all.
i'm asking for haircut advice.
i'm thinking about getting my haircut. i have kind of a hipster style. i wear lots of black and blahhh blah blah. i am also eventually going to be going platinum, so usually... when its short it also seems easier to keep healthy when i'm bleaching the shizznat out of it.
here is a photo of me and a photo of the desired haircut, except for i would like to go a wee bit longer in the back because i think its too short.
( hairrrr )
thanks dears! |

I've had 3 haircuts and 6 colors since I last posted. I asked for advice on my next cut a few months ago and a few people said a pixie would look good. I'd always wanted a mohawk though so I decided that before I chop all my hair off for a pixie, I'd cut it into a mohawk and see how I like it. I loved it, but I'm too lazy to put it up so yesterday I got a pixie.
( So heres a small timeline ) |

| totally new here. but i really need short hair advice! |
[Dec. 20th, 2009|09:56 pm] |
alright so i got a really bad haircut and i let it grow out as much as possible
but now i think im ready to go short
right now:
also its a very beautiful red brown purple color fyi :)
ok so i want something really asymmetrical. short on the side that my bangs are short on and long longer on the opposite side
i also want a semi side wide rattail. i know this is hard to explain haha
here are some pictures ive found that i like
so yeah hopefully you kinda get the idea. i like the blonde girl better because its got less long parts than the dark haired girl
but i was hoping someone could post more photos of what im going for. im getting my hair cut tuesday afternoon so i dont have that much time haha
im not really worried about if this will look good on me or not because im pretty certain i will plus that is a terrible picture of me
thanks for any help! |

| Freshmen 15 |

Well, I just gotta say that for all I was ranting about not wanting to put on that Freshmen 15, well it happened. Me and my tendencies to not work out and overeat. *lesigh* Oh well. I'm back at home for a month and have pretty decent faith in myself to lose most of that weight and stop the jigglies around my stomach and thighs. According to most everyone I see, they still say I'm skinny and look great, but I just would rather be 115. That's always been my goal weight, and it will continue to be my goal weight. I'm estimating I'm around 127 right now, but I haven't weighed myself in awhile. I'm scared to, to be honest. Already I started the track to losing the weight. For the past two days I've worked out and eaten minimally, which has been great. Today I was able to exercise self-control and only have one peanut butter kiss cookie that we made, which was also fantastic. I just keep telling myself that I can definetely exercise control and I'm motivated to work out. I'm pretty certain that this month I'll lose the weight. Oh, and I'm cutting out bread. I don't mean all carbs, I still eat wraps, cereal, granola bars, etc. What I mean is bread and rolls. No sandwiches, subs or rolls and Christmas for me this month. Whoopie. Next semester at school I hope to have a structured time to go to the gym six days of the week. I have a group who's willing to join me which is pretty cool. I think I really do have things set up well for the ability to lose 15 pounds. What do you think? |

| I'm home! |
[Dec. 20th, 2009|03:28 pm] |
Last Week's Goals: -GYM. GO. GEEZUS. I didn't...once again...and now I have to wait until January (when I know for sure what my class schedule is because that's when I get my acceptance or rejection to the Journalism School) to figure out when I can actually work out...ugh.
-easy on the high-sugar caffeine drinks I had a few more peppermint mochas than I wanted to this week, but I always get them with non-fat milk (and the whipped cream...whoops).
-try to get enough sleep (unlikely, but we'll see) I did well on this. I made sure I started studying early so I could get to bed at a reasonable hour. yay!
-try not to go too insane during finals Haha, I did pretty well on this, too.
-mentally prepare myself to go home (two weeks) Done and done. I was fine, and actually excited to go home, until this morning, when I found out that the chef at my work is in a medically-induced coma. :( :( :( There's a good chance that I won't be home for the whole two weeks because shifts need to be covered.
-go to the store, but only for the essentials (read: cereal and milk) Done. :)
This Week's Goals: -use my family's home gym stuff, even though it's old (and some of it is broken) -not eat as much home cooking as I want to, because I've already gained a few pounds -get lots of sleep -don't go insane
That's it, that's all. Merry Christmas to those of you who celebrate it!! :) |

| Cowlicks! |
[Dec. 20th, 2009|01:13 pm] |
Hi guys. I've really enjoyed looking through old posts here, but one thing I haven't seen yet is talk about cowlicks, and what a bitch they can be. You see, I think fringe adorable, and my favorite styles involve fringe, but I have a little problem.

There's a cowlick in the middle of my hairline.
My hair in the front naturally goes back, so like this it will fall over to the side and basically stay there. Doesn't matter what side I part on. That was awesome as a child because I didn't have to bother with clips or frequent trimming to keep hair out of my eyes, but now that I'm older and want to find a nice look it gives me trouble. Do any of you have a similar cowlick? How have you styled your hair around it? I'd love to see pictures. |

| Boyfriend Makeover! |
[Dec. 20th, 2009|01:16 pm] |
I go to Paul Mitchell and men's hair is my specialty. I cut my boyfriend's hair off because he was looking like a bum. His hair is really curly so he had to relax it and straighten it so this is much easier for him, I'm liking it, what do you think? sorry the pictures are so big I really don't want to resize them!

Google has failed me. Are yellow-based reds more on the blonde side of the color spectrum? Sorry if this is a stupid question. |

| Holiday Challenge... Christmas week! |
[Dec. 20th, 2009|09:33 am] |
( The plan/the performance, Week with Beethoven's birthday in it )
This next week has a Christmas lunch out with the work team, Christmas eve chili supper at my place, and Christmas dinner with my daughter in law, also at my place.
Christmas week plan: 1. Food: Christmas lunch with the team, I know the restaurant and intend to exercise portion control, not to deprive myself. It is OK to leave food behind, even to NOT take the excess home. I'm repeating that to myself.
Christmas eve, I am preparing the chili from scratch, starting with dry beans soaked and now simmering on the stove. There will be "no flour, no sugar" in this recipe, out of deference to one sister. It will be kosher, out of deference to a couple other folks, and vegetarian, for a third contingent. Aren't my family gathers fun? Oh, and in the process of all of that, it ends up heart healthy for me! And diabetic friendly for the other sister!
Christmas dinner my daughter in law and I have planned together to fit into both of our food programs (we are both Jenny Craig® clients these days). I'm only a few pounds from goal, she's only a couple away from her halfway point.
The only sweets I have on hand are candy canes, which the kids who come can pluck off the tree. Wish me luck!
2. Exercise: 30 minutes 7 days. That's the plan. I am not going to promise strength training, but I will give myself extra credit for doing it.
3. The great American bubble-out continues. No more than one a day, but I won't try to go the whole week without. That turned out to be unrealistic.
Check back in here with a report next Sunday. Less than two weeks 'til New Year's 2010! We're doing good, gang. A plan a week, a check in a week! Thinking about New Year's goals yet? Anybody coming up with a 2010 initial challenge? Have it simmering in the back of your minds... and maybe next week start putting them down. |

| coloured fringe?? |
[Dec. 20th, 2009|11:06 pm] |
Hey! So I posted a couple of weeks ago, asking what colour I should dye my hair.
Ive decided to dye it a light brown with highlights / lowlights (basically my natural colour) and I would like a purple fringe (bangs??) like this:
( sorry if this is you! )
I can't seem to find many pictures of this though, so could you please show me pictures of hair, with a different coloured fringe? I don't mind what colour, its just more for placement for me to take to the hairdressers.
Bonus if its a side swept fringe!
x-posted to dyed_hair . |
